[Shotimes] do/should transmissions races spin?

I took my trans case to my machine shop to remove that
stuck race. 'Took him one pop with a slide hammer to
remove it. Unfortunately there is now a nice burr
where the race sits. The shim and race will probably
go back in without a problem if I hammer it in evenly
using a block of wood, etc...

Now, does it matter if that race spins at all? With
the burr in the case it won't spin at all. In theory
that should be fine because the bearing is supposed to
spin in the race. However, someone said that the
aluminum will expand at operating temp and the races
will spin. If that's the case there's going to be some
resistance and metal wear if I leave the burr. I guess
it makes the most sense to clean up the burr with some
emery cloth or fine sandpaper?
