The 330i is 255 HP, which is quite decent. With the prime purpose as a daily driver, it would do fine. For the amount of track work youi do the used E36 M3 would do better, but for 4-door practicality, I found them too be too small in the back seat. The model change in the late '90s made them worthy of consideration as one of my daily-driver SHO replacements.

The 3 series stuff is great, I've been around it. I think the current 330
stuff is one of the best looking sedans out there, pretty clean lines,
pretty simple (which I like), nice proportions. Very tight chassis. No
complaints. Not really enough grunt under the hood for me (MHO) to take a
serious look though.

A used 3.2L E36 M3 would be more suited to me.
