Just got back from the track and the most important part.... motor ran well
... reason why i said that was i had to helicoil some of the cam bearing
threads when i put the .40 cams in ... and screwed one up even with a
helicoil. Anyway .. engine is great.

I had alot of people at the track from the dealership which i work at and
this is there observation:

I had no traction even when launching at idle ... if i got into it to early
after launching from idle ... I'd have wheel spin .

Mark N was right ... using the Khumo victor racers for drag racing is a bad
idea. I think i was able to launch better last time i was out on stock zr
rubber.

BUT .. once i caught and got into the rpms everyone said i had lots of power
.. they all noticed how fast the car was when it hooked up.

I raced a mustang that was around 350 hp ... had a massaged motor ... and he
was launching with street tires and couldnt get launched ... I took him
slightly off the line ... and than he came even with me .. but in third and
for a few seconds in 4th i was pulling away. Thats what i wanted .. upper
end pwr !

MY times launching close to idle .. and havng to back off until i got
traction ... i still think i did well. I probably toasted my Jr clutch ...
time will tell. Thats another reason for lanching softly !

To launch succesfully i need drag radials and a much heavier duty clutch.

Here are the times and would like those who know drag racing .. give me
there comments:

best 1/4 mile time:
60' 2.283
1/8 9.346
1/4 14.296
mph 98.95

worst 1/4 mile time:
60' 2.621
1/8 9.912
1/4 14.865
mph 98.18

best mph
60' 2.344
1/8 9.425
1/4 14.358
mph 99.44

I did manage with the stage I cams ... a year ago a 101 mph .... and around
a 14.2 time ... but i was able to lock up and launch better... i do truly
believe that ..

For what its worth i think i have gained more upper end hp . which is what i
was looking for .... but to truly find out i need to get the motor dynoed
