[Shotimes] Loud Knocking on Start Up

Greetings,
I think that I might be getting ready to experience a rod bearing failure.
This morning, and recently also, I have noticed a loud, quick knock at start
up after my SHO has been sitting for a day or more.  I have a 94 ATX, so it
has always raced at start up, which I understand is normal, but this is
relatively new.  I don't hear the knocking any other time, once it's started,
but I think I heard a knocking as I passed a wall while accelerating through
about 3000 rpms last week.  I couldn't duplicate it later, though.  So, this
sounds like rod bearings?
What do you all think?
