I had a good time with an escape once, a rental to boot.

Took it from NE indiana to and from texas over an extended weekend. We
started by accidentally jumping it with a whole cargo load of crap in it,
then we slept in the back at the OK welcome center, then we drove through
torrential rains down rte 66 to get to the big muddy field in texas where
the the concert was, stuck it 4wd and mudded my way to a parking space, then
when we left after a few days we slopped our way back out.

I brought it back to enterprize full of dirt, fast food garbage, and covered
in reddish mud. The lady came out and chcked the odometer then ssked "Where
exactly did you go in 1400 miles and how did you get this thing so dirty?"

In my bok, it's a pretty darn good little vehicle, and got anout 22mpg on
the highway.

We nicknamed it "The Great Escape"
