It turned out to be an absolutely beautiful day! Weather cooperated, with
55-57 temps, slight headwind (9 mph from the SW on an east-west track), and
sun all day. The Gingerman day on Thursday also worked out great. It was
colder and no sun, but a track day can better handle some water on the
track.
Turnout was great! Relatively large number of folks from both IL and Canada.
A "guesstimate" would be 30 cars, and I understand that a few left early.
Next year's Lapeer events will be in the same early May and late October
timeframes. With the success of having the Gingerman day on the previous
Thursday, we talked about setting it up that way with the two Lapeer events
next year.
Friday track rental at Gingerman is at (expensive) weekend rates, so
Thursday is the best alternative.
