I feel much the same way (ie, why are we going to the
gulf when there's so much more work to be done here.
Sadly, I know the answer but I'm not going to spell it
out and turn it into a political debate in an
inappropriate forum).

I keep wishing that there was something that I could
do. If I didn't have anything to do for the next two
weeks, I'd seriously considering going in as a
volunteer with the Red Cross. I keep hearing reports
of what's happening at the Superdome and it makes me
sick to my stomach that we are allowing this to happen
in our own country...Apparently one of my aunts is
going to go down there from Maryland. Based on what
I've seen on TV, it will be a heart-wrenching
situation.

Good luck at sea. I'm not religious either but I
"pray" in my own way for everyone down there and what
they are suffering through.
