[Shotimes] Half-shaft for '95 ATX

After the CV boot of my '91 SHO blew up and spred it's guts all over the
inside of my wheelwell at Thunderhill Park last summer, I bought a new
half-shaft from Raxles and was very pleased. However, since the car in
question is not driven hard, and the existing boot has not actually failed
yet, I may try just replacing the cracked boot with a new one. Is this a
practical alternative? Car only has ~84k on it.
