Mark,  I don't see any more recent posts on this topic.  Did you get a new
compressor and did it cure the problem?

The reason I ask is that my son's 95M has a similar problem.  I'm
convinced the issue is some restriction in the compressor because 2
clutches have now failed.  Basically the damper in the clutch got
shredded.  When this happened, there was a horrible screeching sound,
metal on metal rubbing from the outer ring and hub.  My next course of
action is to buy a whole new compressor and replace it.  Prior to both
clutches being replaced, the A/C blew cold, but there must be some
restriction causing the clutch to fail...
