[Shotimes] Trunk Leak Help?

Just to update everyone - I pulled the taillights and laid a bead of
non-setting silicone on both sides of the (cheesy) gaskets and that seemed
to work!

Thanks again,

Mark

Everybody always says to check the taillight seals and the trunk
weatherstripping, but on my current car and my previous one (both Gen 2)
water was getting in at some of the seams between the panel that forms the
trough around the trunk opening and the fender. There is some sealer on the
seams from the factory, under the paint, and there were some hairline cracks
in it. Looking at it, I would never have said that they could leak water,
but boy was I wrong! I poured water from a cup at the top of the trunk
opening and watched inside, behind the carpet, to see where it was coming
from. Sure enough. Some clear silicone over all of the seams stopped the
leaks for good. Just another idea.
