Bad CV joint was RE: [Shotimes] Front wheel bearing replacement

Speaking of clicking, would a bad CV joint only click while stepping on the
brake pedal?  I put new spindles on my car this week as part of a brake
upgrade, and I now get a clicking noise while braking.  The noise seems to
be from the drivers side wheel only.  Wheel bearing and hub are brand new.
It seems to be one click per rotation of the wheel also.

I pulled the wheels, and I can't determine where the noise is coming from,
but it doesn't appear to be from the new calipers or rotor.

Another thing to note is that the CV boot on that side is torn. No clicking
yet from the joint itself, just a torn boot. I guess first I should replace
the CV joint and then re-assess the bearing, huh?
