Hello,
I am a long time SHO ('91) owner and for the first time am repairing the
rear brakes. I encountered many problems in the process. I am hoping
someone can shed some light my direction:
1. I never could figure out how to remove the emergency brake cable, which
is in the way of the lower bolt. Luckily with a wrench and plenty of
patience the bolts came out with a little fanagling at the end. How do you
remove this cable?
2. After I got the calipers off it became clear the passenger side caliper
had a stuck pin. I have tried every thing I can think of but it is not
moving. I am now thinking I need to make some more invasive proceedure to
fix the pin, but because of the e-brake I can't remove the caliper.
3. Once I do figure out how to remove the caliper from the car, what would
be the best way to remove the rusted pin? (drill it out, buy a whole new
setup)
Any help would be appreciated. I have got to do this one my self as the
finances will not all the help of a mechanic.
Thanks.
