I believe the 2006 M5 does the same. They actually were not going to offer a
manual but there was a hue and cry so it is an US only item. Everyone else
gets SMG (sequential manual shift).
You figure Formula 1 cars don't really shift.

The brochure for this car states that the automatic version is 1/10th
quicker than its manual counterpart. I find this to be an anomoly.
Does this make sense and can anyone explain it?
