Five months later (from May) the local Ford Dealer
finally fixed my AC. My SHO was becoming the joke of
the dealership. To re-cap, they replaced compressor
and
all lines. Next, replaced evaporator inside the dash.
Had them replace heater core while they were in there.
Still could'nt cool for more than 5 days. Months
of diagnosing, they finally found the NEW compressor
to be defective and put in another new one. Lets see
if this holds. Tomorrow will be the acid test, as
none have made it more than 4-5 days. The AC rebuild
was around $2,500, which fortunately was covered under
extended warranty. Next on the adgenda is a new clutch
and all new suspension which I will have to pay for.
I'm through bragging about my 10 year old SHO not
costing me any $ other than routine maintenance.
In 2005, she will have consumed $6,000 of warrantee
covered and about $3,500 of my money, bringing a total

of $9,500 in repairs for a $2,500 car. Oh well, I love
driving her and after clutch and suspension, I don't
anticipate any more major items going.
