Dave,

With respect to Tony, you need to see the guys in SVTOA hustle a 
Lightning around a road course.  of course it won't beat a "sports car" 
in handling, but it is sure a long-LONG way from a pig, or the other 
thing you called it!

It is all a matter of perspective, and the Lightning guys are having fun 
and going fast and more than in a straight line..
