[Shotimes] Clutch replacement in NH/MASS - recommendations?

My original 1990 clutch was replaced by the dealer at 50k miles.  The car
was there for another reason and they replaced the clutch without even
asking me about it.  The one that they installed lasted about 80k or city
driving.  I figure if a person did mostly highway driving they could extend
the clutch life by a lot.
