[Shotimes] Clutch replacement in NH/MASS - recommendations?

Yup. In fact, my clutch pedal started getting heavy at about 5K miles. I
never got the extended warranty. My Ford buddy (who was on the Taurus & SHO
product development team at the time...and even blew up one of the
development ATX cars at the test track!!) tried my clutch pedal at about 15K
(out of warranty then) and told me about the weak clutch, and how mine was
dying. I was doing a lot of freeway miles at the time, so it held out to
somewhere around 30-32K.

Then it died big time!! Luckily, I was able to drive about 2 miles through
subdivisions to get to the nearest Ford dealer.....winding about 4k and
going 10 mph!!

That is correct, according to the dealer that did my first two clutches.
They were rather disgusted that the 'new' parts were not improved. Any
improved clutches went to the assembly line rather than to dealers for
repairs to in-service vehicles.
