[Shotimes] Replaced One SHO!

Again, this is not an issue to worry about. Trust me, as someone who has
flown for business for years, there are a LOT of folks who miss their return
flight for a number of reasons (traffic jams, 30-minute check-in rule, etc).
BTDT myself.

If you do it on a regular basis, they "may" hassle you, but not for a
one-time thing.

"I don't check in for the return flight. What list are
you talking about? TSA or what?"

Yeah, if you checked in and THEN dissappeared, life
wouldn't be good at all. For you, or the airline. But
that really doesn't matter, the fact that your name is
still on the load list for the flight is still the
problem. For each flight there is a list, or load
list, which has everyone's names who have made a
reservation for that particular flight. Those who
aren't checked in, and who aren't taken off that list
(that usually happens by them calling to the Res. Desk
or to any station and saying they won't be flying on
that flight), their names are usually just canceled
out. Everyonce in a while, the FAA/TSA/DHS (those
three agencies....sigh...*shakes head in disgust) asks
for those flight lists, and can see who did check
in/fly, and those who did not. If your name shows up
alot in the lists who had a reserved seat but never
checks in, your name could wind up on lists, like the
"Selectee List", which ends up sending you thru extra
screening everytime you fly. Sure, alot of businesses
buy up seats in lots and never use all of them, but
majority of them let us know in advance if they're
flying or not, and if they don't, usually we hear from
them the day after the flight.

This may never happen to you, but I would NOT
reccomend buying a R/T ticket and just not doing
anything about the return leg. Please take a minute or
two to call into the local airport or a Res. Desk (yes
I know they're a PIA) and just tell them something
came up, you won't be flying on the return leg, and
no, you don't want to reschedule.

"Which airline do you work for? I hope it isn't
Delta... <G> what do you do?"

Nope. I work for little old GQ (airline speak for Big
Sky Airlines). Based out of Billings, MT (where I'm
at). We serve 5 Northwest States (MT, WY, ID, OR, &
WA) with Beech 1900D Puddle Jumpers. I'm a CSA
(Customer Service Agent). But most of the time I'm
usually a Ramper, which I honestly prefer. I work the
counter inside, gates, and sometimes answer
phones...when I can't escape to the ramp. Sometimes we
also get contracted out to help Skywest (both Delta
and United), and sometimes Horizon and Allegiant. The
only city in Montana that mainline Delta still serves
is Bozeman. I honestly wish I worked for a major
airline, but what can you do. And no, Delta isn't
going to go under, so I ain't skeered. If you are
worried about any of the majors, I'd look more towards
Northwest then Delta.
