A couple of weeks ago Bart,Marlene's '91 took a dump. She was taking him to get an inspection, went across the street to get a few gallons of fuel(93 octane)when she got to the station Bart died.
The inspector got in and tried to start,no start. He asked her to retrace her last 20 minutes. She told him of the fuel,he then said oh my goodness. There 93 octane sucks they have been having alot of problems.Several cars have come for repair with similar probs.Bad gas.
She then has the evil one towed home.I drop the tank.I get several samples of the said gas and have some tests done. Its gonna take several weeks for the results. One test did tell us the octane level was not 93.....it was less than 87.
I think its something else, not the fuel.I still think its electrical. My question,is the substance on the male plug on top of the fuel pump...that is dielectric grease.....it looks rather ugly to me.I'm sure its original. Not being seated properly and not enough dielectric grease would it cause a bucking and or a no start situation?
