I have a similar issue, except mine doesn't completely go out. It fades in
and out; bumps seem to make it change state. I pulled the dash out and
checked the connections; they all seem to be tight and secure. It's in my
  '93 ATX.

The clock in my 95 MTX goes out completely, and then
returns a day or two later. Anyone know why?
  Thanks.
