Everyone:

Jan and I took Tuesday and Wednesday of this week to visit Memphis and
pick out the restaurants for the convention.

Let me say that finding good, interesting food in Memphis is no
problem. Finding the same with enough room for our group and everything
else we must take into account is more of a problem. But we dove in and
visited about 8 restaurants and sampled food at most of them as part of
the ritual of putting on this event. We do it all for you folks!

OK, mock tears for those that must try lots of good food is now over. :)

We did find what we were looking for.

We have a great place for the Sunday pre-convention dinner to get people
in the mood. We also found two downtown locations to let you sample all
that is Beale Street and the Memphis sound and scene. All at decent
prices with free entry to some clubs for music.

Finally, we have a location for Friday night, that didn't fit into the
convention days, but we will invite any that stay over friday to join us
at an 1800's southern mansion to be treated like southern royalty.

I would like to remind everyone that we need your reservation early if
you want to do the very fun RACE ON experience of riding in or driving a
real NASCAR style race car. We have a super low price but need advance
reservations since they require a big deposit early. So check out the
convention on the club web site, and get your reservations in. The
hotel also has rooms left, please make reservations now even if you
think you might not make it, you can cancel your room up to 24 hours before.

See you in Memphis!
