And in another automobile/winter olympics connection:

The Americans failed again to win a medal in bobsledding.  So far, the only
times we have won medals was in 1948 and 2002.  The Americans are the
laughing stock of the bobsledding community.

Enter Geoff Bodine and a few of his Nascrap redneck friends.  "We're goin'
to apply Nascrap technolgy (isn't that an oxymoron?) to these here sleddin'
thangs", he said, which was actually his 2nd affirmation.  His first
affirmation was, "What size engine y'all runnin' in these here midgets?
Huh....they don't use engines....ummm......are you sure?"  To which he
immediately followed with, "First, you need to purty up these thangs with
lots and lots of ugly beer, cigarette, and erectile dysfunction stickers.
That'll make 'em faster."  (Now that was all just this writer's
embellishment, but I suspect I'm not far from the truth.)

If I was involved in bobsledding I wouldn't let those Nascrap a-holes
anywhere near my sled - but that's just because I hate Nascrap and anyone
involved with it.  A more logical way to make that statement would be, "What
the fuck does a redneck from the south know about ice and snow?!?!?!?!?!?"

Geez, if we wanted some "expert" technical advice we should have consulted
the Jamaican bobsled team!!!!!!!  Atleast those guys have some bobsledding
experience!!!

Having a Nascrap redneck "take a look" at my sled makes about as much sense
as Arabs controlling US ports!!!!

In the end, after all of Nascrap's meddling and sticking their nose where it
didn't belong, the 4-man US bobsled teams only managed 6 & 7th place
finishes.  Thanks a whole helluva lot for nothing, Nascrap!!!!!  I guess the
European bobsledding teams enlisted the expertise of Formula 1.

Maybe for the 2010 Winter Olympics we should consult with CART/IRL teams -
you know, people from the North who actually know what they're doing AND
have actually seen snow!!!!
