Following Bob Lutz's hate of anything reto, the new Camaro concept was
unveiled yesterday at the Detroit Auto Show.

The front pays a very slight tribute to the first generation cars, and
the side is mostly new age sculpting for a sporty four seat coupe. I
haven't found any rear pictures yet, but descriptions say a combination
of old Camaro and Vette.

The Vette V8 and 6-speed are of course included. The car is based off
the next generation Monero from Australia as will be the 2008 GTO. Both
cars (the Camaro production is about a lock based on sales of Mustang
and the D/C Hemi cars and strong desire for the new Challenger from
Dodge) will be produced in North America using the Aussie archetecture,
and will most likely be made in Canada, where the cars were made before.

I will need to see better pictures, but I don't think I will be a target
buyer for the new Camaro, but I have no doubt it should sell well, if
the economy doesn't go to hell in the next couple years.
