I think this is a prime example for the big 3 trying to hold costs of goods down (with health insurance and the union fiasco jacking them up) that so many parts and sub assemblies get whored out to the lowest bidder, that the majority of the nuts and bolts just aren't up to the same quality as a lot of the overseas stuff
