Joseph,

There is no connection between the VAPS processor and the EEC.
Disconnecting it will not affect anything.

Has anyone installed a non-VAPS steering rack in a VAPS car?  If the VAPS 
connector on the rack is left unplugged, does that cause the EEC to throw a 
code?
