I believe the model computer you want is an X2J (I might be wrong on
this...), and people part cars out all the time w/ cheap computers to be
had. Fleabay has them all the time for el cheapo. I'm sure Al could
cough one up for you... he's a nice guy like that. :)

Subject: [Shotimes] 92 MTX ECM computer needed

Well, after having my car for 2 weeks, my shop has traced my no-start
condition to a bad ECM. They checked both the Cam and Crank sensors and
the
signals coming from them were fine. They did find that the positive
cable
going from the battery down to the alternator had been rubbing up
against
the A/C pulley at some point and possibly shorting against something
down
there, causing the computer to fritz out. I did notice that that cable
was
loose when I got the car so I bolted the cable support back to the
radiator
support, but I guess by then, the damage had been done. Anyone know
where I
could get an ECM for this car? Will any Gen2 MTX computer work, or do I
need one specifically for a 92? My shop said they found one in FL for
$270,
but I figured I'd check here first.

Thanks,
     Pete
