Well, relatively speaking, you can't lug the engine with an ATX like you can with an MTX.  With an MTX you can take it down to 500rpm and try to make it pull under heavy throttle.  The ATX will keep the rpm's well above that no matter what you do.  I put 156k miles on my 90 SHO and occasionally probably lugged the engine more than I should have, but when the 2nd owner changed rod bearings he found that the original bearings were in good shape.  My gen3 SHO seems to be at least at 1500 rpm anytime your foot is on the gas.
