[Shotimes] Tie rods

While fooling with my brakes I couldn't help but notice that the outer tie 
rod ends on my 91'  are showing their age.  The car has 95 k and the parts are 
original.  I tried to determine if the inner ends are worn as well, but 
couldn't really tell anything with the outers connected.  Should I just plan on 
replacing both the inners and outers based on their age, or is there a way to 
determine the condition of the inner ends?  Thanks for your responses.
