[Shotimes] ABS freaking out

Im hoping to be able to check out my ABS this weeknd, if i can get my wheel 
locks off :) but thats another story. My ABS has been randomly Engaging, 
under normal, LIGHT braking, and somtimes even when no braking whatsoever. 
Makes for an interesting stop to say the least. First thing im going to 
check, and perhaps replace, is the front left ABS sensor wire, a few months 
ago i noticed it came unclipped and ever so slightly rubbed through, so i 
carefully taped it back up with high quality electrical tape, and all has 
been well until now. However, i remember that same sensor was bad when i 
bought the car, before i replaced it, but the ABS just didnt work at all and 
the light was on. So im thinking its probably somthing else in the system, 
does anyone agree? Any suggestions and advice would be appreciated. Thanks!
