And later I said in local events and OK, yes the car does factor in, but
when starting out, as this discussion was about, the car is the last
thing someone needs to take into account. You can spend tons of money
on a fast car and if the driver is bad, a slow car with a top driver
will still be better. In autocross more than about any other driving
sport, the driver is the most important factor, especially at the entry
level.
So as I said, and will continue to point out propery....a new
autocrosser needs to get driving skill MORE than he needs to get a fast
car or sticky tires. Basics. If you don't know the basics, the fastest
car in the world will still be slow in bad hands.
