[Shotimes] taking 3 MTX trannys converting to one

Got a question for those familiar with the insides of the MTX 5spd
tranny.

I have opened several ..... repaired a few and have installed a quaife
...but i dont open them up on a regular basis.

Question is this .. I have a customer who is giving me two
transmissions. The one in the car( will call this tranny 1) ... either
the gears are fried or he has a internal melt down .. but no cracked
case.

The second tranny ( #2 ) has a blown differential and the case is
cracked.

I also have a third tranny ( # 3 )that I took out of a parts car that I
have had in storage for 5 years but no nothing about the history of this
unit either.

Can I take #2 and put a used good differential in ... take one of the
other case halfs and use it with the existing races .... and SHOULD this
be ok ?

My best guess ... is to take tranny 3 .. open it up .. inspect . it ...
look at it to see if all seems to be ok and close it up and use that
one.

Only caveat with tranny 3 ... when i drained it .. heavy gear lube  came
out .. not mercon.
