[Shotimes] shifter face plate

Guys, I am installing the ATX shifter knob on my 93.  I can get the new knob 
on and functioning, but do not know how to get to the console under the 
shifter face plate to make the lower wire clip connection for the O/D.  Can anyone 
shed some light on how I can make this connection, the wiring inside the knob 
near the O/D button appears intact, cant find a good way in to connect the 2 
leads internally.  Thanks for help.
