[Shotimes] What Happened ?

I think that the hard start problem might be the fuel check valve.
A long time ago the '93mtx would do this and Doug Mellum @ P.Plus
replaced it during a 60k. Problem solved.
My first '95mtx never had this problem. 1 - 2 - start. Everytime,
except when the crank sensor went to lunch.
Now my second '95mtx has always been subject to this hard start problem,
except for the first start of the day or if it has been off for
only a minute or two. First thing in the morning, 1 - 2 - start.
But during the rest of the day, almost always I have to crank it
a second or sometimes a third time to get it to fire up.
I don't mind all that much, because I think that a little extended
cranking allows the oil to flow to where it is needed for the actual
start.
As the third owner, and now with 199k who knows how old the fuel
pump is? When the weather gets better, I guess that I will replace
both the pump and the check valve, but that has got to be after I
replace the clutch on my wife's Nissan pick-up.
