Yes, it was good to see old friends, even though the circumstances were the
toughest type possible. The plant that the Mallinson's sent on behalf of
the SHO Club and SHO enthusiasts was very nice. I want to publically thank
Don and Jan for doing that. Betty's spirits were greatly boosted by all of
our being their to express our love and admiration for John. I had also
printed out the comments that many of you posted regarding John when we
learned of his death - she said she would have to read them in private
because she new they would touch her heart.

The funeral service today was extra special as John was given full military
honors for his service to our country. John was the recipient of a Bronze
Star and the Army Commendation Medal during his tour of duty - just goes to
show us who met him later in life that he was always a man that believed in
doing things to the best of his ability. John also held several patents for
various inventions over the years. John' brother-in-law commented that at
this moment John is probably in heaven redesigning his wings to be more
efficient and better looking. He obvouisly knew John pretty well!
