Yes, it's pushrods, yes, it unapologetically low-tech. But, that was their
design for that market. Corvette, IMHO, tries to appeal to different
demographics, and is a compromise car (although the Z06 is a great effort).
The Viper with no auto tranny, way more torque than is needed (and I love
it!!), and is an "honest" car.

Plus, you have guys like Steve Nelson who are putting a blower on their
Vipers (he should have it on by Gingerman in May).

Yes, I wouldn't find it as refined as a 911, but I would love to have a new
911 as well as a new Viper in the garage. Different cars, and both would
give me giggles.

I wasn't defending the corvette as much as I think a pushrod motor done
correctly is still a great powerplant.

I wouldn't put the Viper and the 911 in the same boat @ 80k, Dodge build
quality and reliability has nothing over GM.  If you were dissapointed in
the past by a vette, I doubt you'd be feeling any different with a Viper!
