If you had ever read the book "Taurus: The Making of the Car That Saved
Ford",
by Eric Taub, you would understand just to what extent the Taurus did pull
Ford out of the cellar financially in the mid-80's.  I found it a
fascinating
history of the car.

  situation in the mid 80's and  2) what the other US makers were offering

  '86, it's not too hard to believe that the Taurus was one of Ford's more
