....anyone ever get their finger caught in a window scissors as the window is going
up?
I'm replacing (again) the window runs in the left side doors. The rear has no
scissors, but just goes up and down a single center post. Relatively easy. The
front, though......
In order to get the front window out of the run so that it can be removed
(relatively) easily, the window needs to tilt forward in the door, with the front
edge down. It will then be free of both sides of the run, front and back. To do
that, the little slider at the lower rear of the window must come out. (The one
that is in the way of changing lock solenoids.) It keeps the window level. I was
maneuvering it around to get the studs at each end out of the holes in the inner
door panel, and ran the window up a bit to take the load off of it. The scissors
was RIGHT behind that slider, and now I have 8 fingers that work (both hands....the
max I ever have is nine). The left index has 2 bloody bandaids on it from the outer
joint to the end. The fingernail is still there, but it won't need any manicuring
for a month or so.
Last week, I only had 3 fingers that didn't hurt. Getting all these parts out of
that car at the PnP really sliced them up. I needed a week of rest (at work) to let
them heal. It took both hands to lift the handle on my storage locker at work.
...just thought I'd share!!! ROTFL!!!
The good news is, I will have all 4 doors together, for the first time in over two
years, in another hour. I might even have the rest of the interior ready for the
seats by the time I quit tonight.
...you REALLY gotta see this carpet!! Beautiful!!
