When those came out, They seemed to be OEM-replacement-type tires. Seem to
be good for the $$$ (operative term here is "good for the money"). Reading
through some of the reviews (which you must do, and not go by the raw number
score) gives an indication that these tires, and folks who buy them, aren't
into much performance driving (Tire Rack needs to redo their driving style
choices, and too many get forced into "spirited").

For someone who has snow tires and wants tires with performance
characteristics, the 712 is also a great buy for the $$$.

No experience, but I was going to get them for the GS when I got its new
wheels....before the BMW came along.  They sound really good.
