After five years of ownership and putting it off for at least three, I
finally took my car into Rik Evans' to get the cam weld done on my '99 with
just over 75,000 miles. Just wanted to get another good word in for Rik- he
does an outstanding job- great service, very knowledgeable, very big on
honesty/trust, dependable (got the car done earlier than promised), and one
of the cheapest around. He even installed my plugs and cleaned off my
battery posts. Super nice guy. If you are in the Michigan/Indiana/Ohio area,
I would definitely recommend Rik for the job- he operates out of Ortonville,
MI. Thanks to Ron Porter and Ryan Dudek who recommended him to me three
years ago. Now I am no longer SCARED to drive my car ( thats no joke-I
recently figured that in the last 3 years, I only put a total of 15,000
miles on the car).
Also, thanks to everyone who responded to my Fusion tires question- I
decided to go with them- I only got one negative response on the list, and
it wasn't even completey negative at that. After about 400 miles, I love the
tires- amazing for the money-they stick to the road like glue, even to the
point that they start showing the limitations of 75,000 mile struts. I got
the ZRi's (I dont drive the car in the winter) and they actually handle
better and ride better than the stock Goodyears.
