[Shotimes] 205 or 225?

Traction is not gonna be that much different between a 205, 215, or 225.
Tread footprint is not that much different. The brand and type of tire will
affect the way the tire feels more than anything.

As was mentioned, you may have an inspection issue with a smaller tire.
Also, place like Tire Rack won't sell you tires with a lower-than-stock load
rating (although, you can get around that!!)

The practical issue is that the load rating for most 205 tires is around
1,200#s at 50 psi. That is marginal for the front-end of a SHO. Now, folks
have done this (I mostly recall folks getting 205 winter tires), but just be
aware.

I would look at other tires. A 215 works better on a 6" slicer than a 225.

The measured rim is the minimum that should be used for best performance. A
215 tire really likes a 7" rim (in fact, the factory setup on my LGT is
215/45/17 on 17x7" rims), and 225s love 8" rims (BTDT).

215 is getting to be tougher to find. If you can find it, a 215/55 also
works well on the slicer.

Subject: [Shotimes] 205 or 225?

Hey guys, I'm looking at these Fuzion tires and notice that they only
come in 205 or 225 widths, not 215... I have 225/55s on right now (AVS
dB2) and they look like they're friggin' pregnant they bulge out so far
on stock slicers. I'm tempted to get 205/55 fuzions to help out
cornering response at the sake of all-out traction. I wanted to go for
wider tread width cos I thought I'd be racing a lot but there's really
no opportunity for that except on the highway where hole-shot traction
is N/A. I know the measuring rim for the 205 is 6.5" vice 7" for the
225s... is this a good idea? Or will I lose too much traction? Or should
I hunt for a tire that has a 215 tread width? So many questions!
