Your 96 MTX, huh? I'm impressed. Care to tell us how you did that? lol 
all sarcasm aside, I'll assume you meant 95 mtx. Rockauto has 
alternators for as little as $130 including the core charge, but the 
lowest acceptable quality one would be the AC Delco at $160 with core. 
$258 is a lot for an alternator. Of course, if you meant 96 atx, then 
your cheapest one's gonna run about $200. Either way, it's cheaper with 
rockauto, especially with a 10% off code, which somebody should have.
