I will copy and paste his remarks : SHO...not too many people know what that car was all about. I have a '91 SHO and absolutely love the car as my daily driver, however, I've encountered an issue I want to bounce off you. Return to center from a left turn is difficult and is accompanied with a high pitched whine, add power and it becomes increasingly difficult and down right dangerous. This has been a lingering issue for a couple of years now (I only drive it during summer ~8 - 10K per year). I was a Ford tech for 10+ years and worry it's transmission related. Changes to date include: K&N Borla Tokico Struts Eibach Springs Outter Tie Rods Axles (loose CVs?) this was a long shot but the boots were cracked anyway. Next thought...differential bearings? I replaced the half shafts last year, mainly because the boots were cracking/torn and the slight possibility of CV issues. I'm wondering if the difference in turning radius is causing an issue? I also forgot to mention the wheel must be physically brought back to center when under load and there is a definite binding about 1/2 turn back. This is certainly not normal and is only noticeable when turning left. Again, add power (1/2 tip in+) and you have to pull the wheel back or get out of the throttle. This does not seem to be a power steering issue in my mind. There are no signs of leaks and why the whine and why would the condition be tied to engine RPM? Very strange indeed. Also, I used shims (washers) when installing the struts. Noise and binding gone. My thoughts are a bad pwr steering rack ... if its binding .. thats why your having the noise ... your all thoughts ?? dond 2007 Red Mustang ShelbyGT500 coupe Evolution Stage II Tune and CAI 653hp 410 gears not fast but scary fast Sr 72 race preped 89 SHO -3.2 ATX block -FPS hi-flow heads w/ over sized valves -.40 cams -SHONUT adjustable timing sprockets -Ported intake & runners -Ported and extrude honed exhaust manifolds -Hi-flow catless Y pipe -Hi-flow exhaust -BBB -SHO SHOP T.B. -SHONUT phenolic spacers -Quaife -CAI -UDP **** -17x7.5 Cobra R rims w/ Toyo Proxies Ra auto cross tires -Complete sunpro gauges water temp / oil pressure **** -Tokico shocks/Eibach springs -Polyurethane at all corners -Solid-sub frame bushings -Frame stiffners -full roll cage/6pt harness -Adjustable rear control arms -Battery located in trunk for better weight distrubution **** -13" Cobra rotors and Calipers -Steel braided lines -race seat -est 2850 pds :) can u say "fast" ?? _________________________________________________________________ More photos, more messages, more storageget 2GB with Windows Live Hotmail. http://imagine-windowslive.com/hotmail/?locale=en-us&ocid=TXT_TAGHM_migration_HM_mini_2G_0507 From barry at kingcon.com Thu Aug 16 14:51:01 2007 From: barry at kingcon.com (Barry Hayes) Date: Thu, 16 Aug 2007 16:51:01 -0400 Subject: [Shotimes] cooling fan relay In-Reply-To: <688997320707271034udc3e1b4ud1fb8d6a7ca27e8e@mail.gmail.com> References: <9922EC37-7137-49CE-A721-A9CA8DE7B352@kingcon.com> <688997320707271034udc3e1b4ud1fb8d6a7ca27e8e@mail.gmail.com> Message-ID: <85499F87-8028-4073-A892-14A1F698D283@kingcon.com> Okay so it looks like I may need the ircm box. Does anybody have one known to be good? This is for the MTX and has BA as the last part #. Apparently it is MTX specific. If anybody knows of a repair or test procedure let me know that too. Perhaps somebody has a schematic? What's odd is that autozone lists the relay as available separately, so is there a way to get a new relay and install it in the module? Please reply to me directly.
