While I did not see the photos of the car in question, keep in mind  
the rarity of mk1 spits. If it comes with a lot of good mk1/mk2  
specific parts then it may be with the money anyway. IIRC, we are  
talking about a mk1, so some specific parts to look for are:
Straight front bumper
Front overriders
The 2 chrome top hooks
Seat frames
Mk1 style door handles/latches
Mk1 remote radiator tank
Hub caps
Grills

That's all that I can think of right now. I'm 99% sure that
