How long do I have to wait?  I put it on the kitchen table and waited
three days, but it didn't do a thing.

I confess I don't have as much patience as I did when I was younger. 
It used to be that if I waited long enough dirty dishes would wash 
themselves, dirty laundry would throw itself into the hamper, etc.  
Now I find myself doing all that stuff manually.
