[Spits] Safety Switch

Depending on what you want to do, an inertia switch will protect you in an
accident (they are not dependent on the mass of the car to work) and an oil
pressure switch will help in a loss of oil pressure.

In an accident if the engine shuts down the oil pressure drops and the oil
switch will shut off the electric fuel pump, but if the engine continues to
run so will the pump, even if there is a leak in the fuel delivery system.

I would assume the inertia switch from the factory was a safety mandate from
somewhere so I guess that adds credibility in using one. I've had experience
in 2 accidents where the switches did their job.

Hard braking will not activate an inertia switch, come on!

Your call!
