I don't plan to dump it, but would like to get it out of the garage. Thanks Mark Sinclair San Francisco, CA ------------------------------------------------------------------------ --------------- Complete engine and (1147) and 3-rail box from my Mk2, basically complete, minus alternate upgrade, speedo drive, electronic ignition, and speedo drive - can include some standard spares. The clutch gave up which triggered replacement with my 1300. It most likely needs a rebuild - I think it sat for a long time before I brought it and the rings never seemed to reseat properly - who knows. It started and ran around town fine, but when hot, and under load, the blowby caused a variety of oil leaks onto the exhaust, which then smoked, etc., etc., although the tailpipe didn't. Top end sounded pretty good to me. Starter, water pump, etc, also seemed OK. This would really suit someone looking to rebuild an engine while theirs is still in the car. It may just need a clean-up and new rings etc. I didn't run a comp test, but it steadily improved after I got it - did the Marvel Mystery Oil thing etc., added breathers, etc., - it just never quite ran properly under load. Have a lot of other stuff to sweeten the deal, gas tank, (MK1 doors), box or two of misc bits, MK2 soft-top convertible frame, complete set of spare front suspension including brake calipers and engine towers, radiator, maybe also a complete rear suspension set if I get that swapped out beforehand. It's free for the taking, I don't want to deal with shipping. Located in San Francisco.

After driving "Uncle Jack" onto the enclosed FedEx trailer early Friday morning 12 February 2010, it is time for my own - "semi famous" Stag to go too, so I can make room for two other Triumphs (crazy? ... yeah!) and FINALLY start their restoration. So, "IAN" is on the block, and many of you in North America who go to VTR and Triumphest have seen and heard this semi-famous Stag. I mean, how many other Triumph Stags in North America have been from mean Sea Level to 14,110 feet above sea level - and then with "uncle jack"? I have had an absolute hoot of a time owning this Stag driving it literally coast-to-coast and border-to-border in the USA with no problems, over 65K miles. Is it perfect? Get real, it is a Triumph that gets DRIVEN!! Reserve price is fair (not the buy-it-now price) considering the condition and extreme reliability this car has provided me over the past 7 years. But if you absolutely MUST have it now, just do the Buy-It-Now before anyone else bids and it's yours. Be quick though because in the short 3 hours it has been listed, over 50 people have looked and 10 have marked it as a watched item.
