Many have declared me wrong-headed when I tell them my Sprite was equipped with whitewall tires on it when I purchased it new. No, they insisted, all Sprites had black walls.

When Frank and I went to Gaydon in May, the lads in the record office gave us that ledget book to review. There in the cursive writing of some obscure clerk was recorded my Sprite. In the right hand column, it noted that it was sent from the factor with white sidewalls! What a relief. I may be dumb and crazy, but not on this issue!

If anyone visits England, I would highly recommend you visit Gaydon if for no other reason than to look up your car's VIN.
