Since I am not qualified to have an opinion on the original question, I will 
join the food group and state that okra was created for the sole purpose of 
making seafood gumbo and it is sinful to so much as contemplate any other 
use. I could really use some good gumbo right now, although I will try to 
compensate to some degree by leaving right now and picking up a Giordano's 
pizza for lunch.
