I have seen then down to 0BA which is very close to M6X1

BA stands for "British Association". It's a common Brit system found  
on small fasteners and, like someone else said, may work on your SU  
carb linkage. I've seen them marked 3BA thru 5BA. There may be more.

The Ford wrench could be a number of wrenches. One common one is an  
open end 5/8 by 9/16 about 5 1/2'" long and used to adjust the bands  
in the transmission. Another is much bigger with offset boxes at both  
ends - one for wheel nuts and the other end for spark plugs. None of  
mine are marked 1 and 2.
