[Spridgets] got a bleeder...

Teflon tape on the screws seems to make sense to me... I originally
started using the Mityvac to bleed cause my son always seemed to
magically disappear when it's time to bleed hydraulics... But he
showed up in mid-project last night so switched to the old press
pedal, open / close bleeder, release pedal routine.
I guess I could check the PWDA switch... but the brake warning light
is not on, so I hadn't considered that to be a problem. Having been
through this process with a few times before with the same setup, I've
never had a problem there yet. Kind of like let sleeping dogs alone,
so to speak...

Marc,
A coupla things quickly come to mind.
The PWDA (aka pressure warning differential actuator) .. the H shaped
bit, if the system's been opened, it is likely that the shuttle
inside is no longer centered. It should be. Remove the plastic
switch, and with a small screwdriver, center the shuttle piston. You
should see/feel a groove directly centered in the hole. There should
be NO fluid in the hole or at the switch. If there is, a repair is warranted.
Mityvac thing... best success seems to come if you have some Teflon
tape on the bleed screw threads... not for sealing when the screws
are closed, but for sealing around the threads when a screw is open.
You should start at the farthest cylinder/screw from the master. That
would be the left rear, then right rear, then left front, then right front.
I've had better success not using a Mityvac, but chacun a son gout.

well, sort of... Got a big ol bottle of Castrol LMA brake juice and
filled it up and commenced bleeding. I'm having fun...
Background - all new hoses, wheel cylinders, rebuilt calipers... Master
was pretty much empty...
started at RR, attached mityvac & reservoir, pulled vacuum on bleeder
till fluid began to flow, continued to LR, then RF and LF. Just can't
get a good pedal.... pumping 2 - 3 times gets some pressure, hold that
and crack the bleeders, seems to get a bunch more air out...
Have done this procedure several times on MGB's with great success.
Never had a spridget before. Letting it sit overnight, will bleed again
tomorrow. Maybe the air will have migrated some by then.
Any special spridget tricks or incantations I should know? Wave a rubber
chicken over it?
